Terms of Service
The short version
- Selutiq is an AI agent on WhatsApp that lists, prices and sells your secondhand things for you. The sale itself is between the seller and the buyer.
- During the free beta there are no seller fees. Planned launch pricing: sellers pay a fee only when an item sells, 3% of the price (5% if also listed on eBay), minimum S$0.50. The first sale is free.
- Buyers pay the item price, delivery and the payment processing fee. Their money is held by our payment provider until the item arrives.
- Buyers have 48 hours after delivery to report a problem. After that, the seller gets paid.
- The agent never sells below the lowest price the seller sets.
- Only sell things you own that are legal, safe and genuine. See the prohibited items list.

1. Who we are
Selutiq is currently a free, invite-only beta run by its founder in Singapore. Selutiq Pte. Ltd. is being registered and will take over running Selutiq once it is. In these terms, "Selutiq", "we", "us" and "our" mean the operator of Selutiq. When the company takes over, we'll update these terms and tell you on WhatsApp. "You" means anyone who uses Selutiq, whether to sell, buy, or both.
You can reach us at hello@selutiq.com or by messaging the Selutiq WhatsApp number you chat with.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the agreement between you and us. By sending a message to Selutiq, listing an item, or making an offer or payment, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Selutiq.
2. Using Selutiq
- Age. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission and supervision, to sell or buy.
- Where. Selutiq is for people in Singapore. Pickups and deliveries are within Singapore only.
- Your WhatsApp number is your account. Anything sent from your number is treated as coming from you. Keep your phone and WhatsApp secure, and tell us straight away if you lose access to your number.
- Personal use. Selutiq is for individuals selling their own things. If you sell regularly as a business, tell us first; different rules and fees may apply.
- Accurate information. Give us true and up-to-date information, including your PayNow number, address and the condition of your items.
- WhatsApp's rules. Selutiq runs on WhatsApp, so you must also follow WhatsApp's own terms and its Commerce Policy. We aren't part of Meta or WhatsApp.
3. How the AI agent works
Selutiq uses artificial intelligence to understand your messages and photos, write listings, suggest prices, answer buyers' questions and handle offers. You're always talking to an AI unless we say a person has joined the chat.
- The money rules are fixed, not left to the AI. The lowest price a seller sets (the "floor price"), fees, delivery charges and payment amounts are calculated by our system's rules, not decided by the AI in conversation. The agent cannot accept an offer below the floor price.
- The AI can make mistakes. It may misidentify an item or get a detail wrong. Sellers must check their listing before it goes live and correct anything inaccurate. Buyers should ask about anything that matters to them before paying.
- Suggested prices are suggestions. We base them on the item, its condition and recent prices we can see, but we don't promise an item will sell or sell at that price.
- Answers come from the listing. The agent answers buyers using only the facts in the listing. If it doesn't know, it asks the seller rather than guessing.
- Messages are data, not instructions. Messages from other users can't change how the agent treats you, your money or your listing. Trying to trick the agent into doing so breaks these terms.
- People review some cases. Our team may review conversations that are flagged, high in value, disputed or unclear, to keep Selutiq safe and fair.
4. Our role in a sale
When an item sells, the contract of sale is between the seller and the buyer. Selutiq isn't the owner or seller of the item. We act for the seller as their agent to list the item, answer questions, accept or pass on offers within the limits the seller sets, arrange payment through our payment provider, and arrange delivery.
We don't inspect items before they're sent, and we don't guarantee the quality, safety or legality of any item, or that sellers and buyers will complete a sale. We do hold payment until delivery and run the dispute process in section 10 so both sides are treated fairly.
Payments are processed and held by a licensed third-party payment provider (currently Stripe). Selutiq doesn't hold buyers' money in its own bank account. Using the payment service means you also agree to that provider's terms.
5. Selling
5.1 Listing an item
- You must own the item, or be allowed by its owner to sell it, and it must be yours to hand over when it sells.
- Describe the item truthfully, including its condition, any defects and missing parts. Photos must be of the actual item.
- Before your first listing goes live, we'll show you our fee and ask for your consent to list. You choose a price strategy ("Sell fast", "Best price" or your own price) and a floor price.
- Keep the item available while it's listed. If it's sold elsewhere, damaged or no longer for sale, send "Remove" (or tell the agent) straight away.
- We may edit a listing's wording or photos for clarity, or refuse or remove any listing, for example if we think it breaks these terms.
5.2 Offers and accepting a sale
- The agent will never agree to a price below your floor price.
- If you turn on auto-accept, you authorise the agent to accept any offer at or above the level you set, without asking you first. That acceptance binds you.
- Otherwise, the agent will send you offers to Accept, Counter or Decline. Once you accept and the buyer pays, the item is sold and you must hand it over.
- While a buyer is paying, the item is reserved for a short time (currently 15 minutes) so it can't be sold twice.
5.3 Other places we may list your item
To find more buyers, we may show your item on our website, share cards and social media, and, if you choose a plan that includes them, on other marketplaces such as eBay. Items on other marketplaces are listed under Selutiq's own business account, not yours, and the rules of that marketplace also apply. When an item sells in one place, we withdraw it everywhere else. If two buyers pay at almost the same moment, we'll refund the second in full.
5.4 After a sale
- Prepare the item for pickup at the agreed time, in any bag or box, marked with the order code we send you (for example SO-1234).
- Hand over the item exactly as described in the listing.
- If you can't hand it over, tell us immediately. The buyer will be refunded in full, and repeated cancellations may lead to your account being limited.
5.5 No sale
If an item doesn't sell, we may suggest a lower price. Unsold listings may expire after a period we'll tell you about. You can remove a listing at any time before it's sold, at no cost.
6. Seller fees
Listing is free. During the free beta we don't charge any fees. The fees below are planned launch pricing, and we'll confirm them with you on WhatsApp before they apply. Once charging starts, sellers pay a platform fee only when an item sells and the sale is completed:
| Plan | Where it's listed | Fee on a completed sale |
|---|---|---|
| App only | Selutiq, our share links and social channels | 3% of the item price, minimum S$0.50 |
| App + eBay | All of the above, plus eBay | 5% of the item price, minimum S$0.50 |
- First sale free. We don't charge a fee on your first completed sale.
- Referrals. When you refer a new seller and they complete a sale, you both get your next sale fee-free, under any referral terms we publish at the time.
- How it's charged. The fee is taken from the sale amount before it's paid to you. The agent shows you the fee and what you'll receive before you agree to list.
- No hidden charges. Sellers don't pay delivery or payment processing fees; the buyer pays those.
- Refunded sales. If a sale is refunded to the buyer, we don't charge a fee for it.
- GST. Our fees include GST if and when we're required to charge it. [Confirm GST position at launch]
- Changes. We may change our fees. We'll give you at least 14 days' notice on WhatsApp, and changes won't apply to items already sold.
7. Getting paid
- We pay sellers by PayNow to the number you give us, after the buyer confirms they've received the item, or 48 hours after delivery if the buyer hasn't reported a problem.
- You receive the item price minus our fee. If a dispute is opened, payment is held until it's resolved.
- Our payment provider may ask you to verify your identity before paying you out, as required by law or its own rules. We can't pay you until that's done.
- Check your PayNow number is right. We aren't responsible for payments sent to a wrong number you gave us, though we'll help you try to recover them.
- You're responsible for any tax on money you make from selling.
8. Buying
- Asking and offering. Tap an item link to start a chat about it. You can ask questions or make an offer. An offer is a promise to buy at that price if it's accepted; you then pay to complete the purchase.
- What you pay. The item price, the delivery fee for the option you choose, and a payment processing fee. We show the full total before you pay. Prices are in Singapore dollars.
- Paying. Pay in the chat by PayNow QR or card through our payment provider. Your money is held until the item is delivered and the 48-hour window has passed. The sale is confirmed only once your payment goes through.
- Secondhand goods. Items are used and sold by individuals, not by Selutiq. Read the listing carefully and ask about anything important before paying.
- Your address. Give an accurate delivery address and be available for delivery. If a delivery fails because the address was wrong or nobody was in, extra delivery costs may be charged to you.
- Changing your mind. Once you've paid, you can cancel and get a full refund only until the item has been picked up from the seller. After that, refunds are only available for the problems listed in section 10.
9. Delivery and handover
- Delivery is done by third-party couriers (for example Ninja Van, J&T, uParcel or Lalamove). The options and price are shown before you pay. Self-collect and meetups are optional where offered.
- Couriers are independent companies with their own terms. If an item is lost or damaged by a courier, we'll make a claim with the courier and refund the buyer if the item doesn't arrive. Sellers are paid only for items that are delivered, unless the courier compensates for the loss.
- Delivery times are estimates.
- For meetups, buyer and seller meet at their own risk. Meet in a public place. Selutiq isn't present and can't verify what happens at a meetup, so the 48-hour protection may not apply.
- Bulky items (for example furniture) must be ready at ground level or accessible to the driver, unless the booked service includes carrying.
10. Problems, refunds and disputes
10.1 Reporting a problem
Buyers have 48 hours after delivery to report a problem by replying in the chat. You can report if the item:
- never arrived;
- is significantly different from the listing (for example, a different model, undisclosed damage, or missing parts that were listed);
- is counterfeit; or
- arrived damaged.
Changing your mind, or minor differences that were visible in the photos or described in the listing, aren't grounds for a refund.
10.2 How we decide
- We'll ask both sides for photos and details, and look at the listing, the chat, and courier pickup and delivery records.
- We aim to decide within 5 working days of having what we need. We may refund the buyer in full or in part, or release payment to the seller.
- If we refund the buyer, we may ask them to return the item to the seller first. We'll arrange and pay for return delivery if the seller was at fault.
- Our decision decides what happens to the held payment. It doesn't take away your legal rights, including the right to take the matter to the Small Claims Tribunals or another court.
10.3 Misuse
If we find that someone has been dishonest (for example, a false claim, a fake or switched item, or an item that was never sent), we may refund the other party, recover money that was wrongly paid, and suspend the account.
11. Prohibited items
You can't sell or buy anything illegal in Singapore, anything that breaks WhatsApp's Commerce Policy, or any of the following:
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and weapon parts or replicas (including toy guns that look real), knives sold as weapons, and pepper spray
- Drugs, drug paraphernalia, controlled substances, medicines (prescription or over-the-counter), supplements making health claims, and medical devices that need a licence
- Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaporisers (which are illegal in Singapore) and their parts
- Animals, animal parts, and products from protected wildlife (for example ivory)
- Counterfeit, replica or "inspired" branded goods, and pirated software, games, films or music
- Stolen goods, or items you aren't allowed to sell
- Adult products and sexual content
- Gambling items and services, lottery tickets, and gift cards, vouchers or event tickets sold above face value
- Real or virtual currency, financial products, and items that are really a way to move money
- Personal documents and data: identity cards, passports, accounts, SIM cards registered to someone, or anyone's personal information
- Recalled products, and items that fail Singapore safety rules, including child car seats, cots or helmets that are damaged, expired or have been in an accident
- Used cosmetics, used underwear and swimwear, and opened food or drinks
- Hazardous materials, such as flammable liquids, gas cylinders and chemicals
- Items that need a licence or permit to sell, such as telecommunications equipment not approved by IMDA
- Services, jobs, property and vehicles (other than bicycles and personal mobility aids that comply with LTA rules)
- Anything that promotes hate, violence or discrimination
We may update this list at any time. If you're unsure, ask the agent before listing. We'll remove listings that break these rules and may report illegal activity to the police or other authorities.
12. Conduct
When using Selutiq, you must not:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including our team;
- try to move a sale off Selutiq after making contact through it, in order to avoid fees or our protection;
- make offers you don't intend to pay for, or list items you don't intend to sell;
- pretend to be someone else, or use someone else's WhatsApp number or payment details;
- try to manipulate the AI agent, get around its rules, or get information about other users;
- send spam, malware, or automated messages, or scrape or copy our listings in bulk; or
- use Selutiq for fraud, money laundering or any other illegal purpose.
13. Your photos and listings
- You keep ownership of the photos and information you send us.
- You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, edit, copy and display them to run Selutiq: to create and show your listing in all the places in section 5.3, to promote your item and Selutiq while the item is listed, and to keep records. We may keep using an item's photos in examples of past sales only if we remove anything that identifies you.
- Only send photos you have the right to use. Don't include people, addresses, number plates or other personal details in item photos; we may crop or blur them.
- The Selutiq name, logo, software and the listings we write are ours. You may share your item's listing link anywhere you like.
14. Suspension and leaving
- You can stop using Selutiq at any time. Remove any live listings first, and finish any sales already paid for. Send "DELETE" to ask us to delete your data once any sale in progress is finished, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Send "STOP" to stop marketing messages.
- We may limit, suspend or close your access, or remove listings, if you break these terms, if we suspect fraud, or if the law or WhatsApp requires us to. Where it's safe to, we'll tell you why. Money for completed sales will still be paid to you, unless it relates to fraud or a dispute.
- We may change, pause or stop any part of Selutiq. If we stop the service, we'll give reasonable notice and make sure sales in progress are completed or refunded.
15. Liability
- Selutiq is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
- We aren't responsible for items themselves, for what sellers and buyers say or do, or for losses caused by couriers, payment providers, WhatsApp or other services we don't control, except as these terms expressly say.
- We aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits or lost opportunities.
- Our total liability to you for any claim related to Selutiq is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, plus the amount of any payment for the affected sale that we were holding, and (b) S$100.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited under Singapore law.
- If you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you'll cover our reasonable losses and costs.
16. General
- Changes to these terms. We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with its date, and tell you on WhatsApp about important changes at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using Selutiq after that, the new terms apply.
- Messages count as writing. Notices we send you on WhatsApp, and agreements made by tapping buttons in the chat, count as being in writing.
- Complaints. Tell us first at hello@selutiq.com or in the chat. We'll reply within 5 working days.
- Law and courts. These terms are governed by Singapore law, and the Singapore courts (including the Small Claims Tribunals) decide any disputes.
- Other. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to a company that takes over Selutiq. No one else has rights under these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001.
